If your car has small seat belts or when using the seat belt around an infant carrier you would like a little more length to work with, then try the following suggestions...
If your car has adjustable height seat belts then try adjusting to the lowest shoulder position, you will lengthen the seat belts in this way.
Sliding your car seat rearwards to its furthest position will give even more length to your seat belt.
You may find that reclining your car seat back a little when installing the infant carrier will help. When you have installed the infant carrier then reposition your car seat back to its upright position, this will tighten the infant carrier further.
WARNING : DO NOT USE THE INFANT CARRIER WITH YOUR CAR SEAT RECLINED.

If you have one of the following cars, then we would advise you to check ANY CAR SEAT to see if it will fit it first before purchasing. The Matrix should fit any model of car in the rear lie-flat position, it is only in the sitting up position that you may experience difficulty with. Also note that the seat belt lengths can vary on the same model of car even if its made in the same year! So the only way to make sure ANY CAR SEAT will fit one of the problem cars is to check it first.

First place your infant carrier on the car seat rearward facing.

WARNING:
If you are thinking of putting an infant carrier on the front seat of the car, make sure there is no Air-bag fitted as THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
Pass the abdominal part of the car seat belt through the front slots on your infant carrier and fasten it.
Adjust the position of the infant carrier so it is not too upright. Simply pull up the infant carrier at the footrest.
PLEASE NOTE : On the Matrix car seat there will be a gap under the footrest area between the carrier and the car seat. It will sit too upright if you have the Matrix base flat against the car seat.

Now with your hand firmly pushing down on the infant carrier, pull any slack out of the car seat belts.
This will tighten the abdominal strap around the infant carrier.
Now pass the diagonal part of the car seat belt over the back-rest fitting it through the hooks. If at this point you notice that the car seat belts are not ample enough to cover the infant carrier without difficulty, then try sliding your cars seat rearward to its furthest position which will give more length to your seat belt. Also you can try adjusting to the lowest shoulder position on your cars seat belt height adjuster.
Place the (Matrix & Rebel models) handle in the “AUTO” position, (the word “AUTO” appears at the base of the handle.
Make sure the car seat belts cover the infant carrier perfectly and that an appropriate tension is applied to the seat while pulling any slack out of the cars seat belts.
REMOVE ANY SLACK:
The front slots on the Rebel & Matrix car seats which the abdominal part of the seat belt pass through are designed to keep the seat firmly in position incase of a side impact collision. This is a unique feature that some infant carriers lack.
This Anti-Rotational position is a unique feature on some infant carriers. The handle then acts as a safety barrier and also helps keep the infant carrier in place in an extremely violent accident.

First fasten the back seat belts in the car.
This anchoring system allows you 3 choices to place your carry cot in;

Anchor A with C
Anchor B with C or
Anchor A with B

The carrycot need only use two seats in the rear of your car, leaving one free for another car seat or passenger.

Detach the fitting and re-attach it to your cars seat belts as shown. Before looping the belt through the fitting make sure it is face up and pointing to the outside of your car as shown in the picture.

Place the Red metal finger into the loop and pull the belt so the seat belt is now caught between the fitting.

Attach the second fitting to your other chosen seat belt. (This example shows the two outside seat belts being used i.e. Anchor A with C).

ATTACHING FITTING TO ANCHOR POINT C:

Pull the fitting forward and twist so that the belt that leaves the fitting on top, is the belt which leads to your cars seat belt buckle. In other words the belt that comes from the base of your seat, is under the belt which leaves the fitting.

Now attach the fitting to the Matrix. To tighten just pull the belt which leaves the fitting on top as shown in the pictures.

Lie your baby down in the Matrix and carefully fasten and adjust the abdominal strap around your baby’s waist and pelvis.

WARNING: Before fastening baby make sure the Matrix backrest is locked in the maximum horizontal lie flat position. Only use the adominal strap in this position, not the ‘Y’ shaped safety harness.
