This is due to a simple fact that all car seat belt lengths are not a fixed length. Even if you had two cars which were the same Model and date of manufacture they could still have different seat belt lengths. This puts ALL MANUFACTURES of Infant Car seat in the same position that they can't guarantee their car seat(s) will fit.

A car seat is the most important item you'll buy for your baby, because if you have an accident it will protect your baby from the huge forces involved. For this reason, the seats are fitted in the car so a young baby travels backwards or lying flat. The back and sides of the seat then protects your baby's head and neck against whiplash. It is this reason that also makes infant car seats completely different to fit than the Group 1+ bigger forward facing car seats.

The Jane Matrix has been improved even further since Summer 2002. This improvement was simple - the seat belt routing now goes under the Matrix and not up and over the Childs legs - this means the seat belt doesn't need to be as long and should fit most cars on the market.

It should fit all makes of cars in the lie flat position with at least 2 free back seats using either 3 or 2 point type seat belts. This is sometimes the only option some parents may have if their car has air bags in the front and very small seat belts!

Never use any Infant Car Seat on a seat with a Frontal Airbag.
